What is the Presbyterian Church
Authority resides with the duly elected representatives of the congregation in the appointed church governing bodies. At the local level the church is governed and guided by the session
It is a representative democracy governed by elders elected from and by the congregation.
In Kasota, the session is divded into 4 committees. These committes work independently of each other and meet together on a montly basis to give committee reports and receive input and ideas from other session committees, as well as transacting the business of the church.

This committee coordinates weekly worship services as well as special services and works with the choir / choir director / organist and other musicians within the church
This committee coordinates building concerns/construction as well as overseeing finances and daily church business. This committee works directly with the treasurer of the church.
This committee is charged with reaching out to the community, and plays an important role in helping maintain the spiritual life within the church. This committee works directly with church staff to help them succeed in their charge.
This committee oversees education within the church, ministering to the youth and aged of the congregation and community. They run Vacation Bible School, as well bible studies and Sunday School.
Clerk of Session
The clerk of session creates reports, as wel as maintains minutes of all session meetings, responds to correspondances to the church and often acts on the request of the church session.
